Holcim Penrith Quarry located in Castlereagh, NSW
The Holcim Penrith Quarry demolition project involved the removal of all hazards which included large quantities of asbestos roof sheeting, wall and ceiling linings and the removal of 1000m of underground asbestos piping from 150mm to 600mm in diameter. The demolition consisted of all fifteen above ground structures including the 35m high crushing house. All pavements, foundations and piers were also removed. During the project over 1250 tons of ferrous and non ferrous metals and 14000 tons of masonry materials were recycled.
